No problem. We all started from the begining. We all are learning everyday. We will be glad to help you get going. Now having said that. Got some more questions to ask you.

What reciever do you have?
What file are you running?
What dish and lnb setup do you have?
What sats are you trying to get?
If you have any switches set between the dish and the reciever and if you do what port do you have them on in your dish setup?

You should power off your receiver before you plug or unplug. Otherwise your will damge your receive, lnb or switches

Also, on the USB to serial cable.. or an adapter, make sure that it comes with a driver for it too.. some do not. No driver, will only cause you more problems... keep us posted on your success.. good luck, txsgent

FYI : Some receivers don't flash properly using that adaptor.
I don't have the DG 7200 nor have even used one for that matter,
but the Coolsat has known issues when trying to flash the receiver that way.
Albeit most of the issues are with the laptop computer and gossboss5501 didn't mention what type of computer is is using.

Are you using the laptop to flash with? I haven't tried to flash with my laptop. I am only mentioning what others have said in the past and at another site.
