Default converting a gts file to record on a dvd

does anyone know how to take a file you have recorded on the box and connect to a computer and then write it to a dvd for viewing later . any info you have will be most appreciated. it seems the files on the HD are called GTS i have never heard of that will they convert for writing to a dvd?

I am able to play those files on my computer with a program called media player classic. You may be able to play the file with other players. i have heard that you can change the extention to .mpg and it will be ok, but I have not tested that. I have used a program called VSO ConvertX to DVD. It converted the file but I did not burn it to test.

Try it and post the results...

Ok here is what i have found out so far , simply renaming the file mpg or converting it does not work i tried the converters found on here by grasshopper and they didn't do me any good. i can play them on my computer under windows media player just as they are no conversion . i cannot burn them to a DVD, I am using nero I'm going to try some other software and see if they will burn it. I have a 500 gig HD so i gues i shouldn't sweat it yet.

ConvertXtoDVD will do it, but it is slow. Takes me about 4hrs to convert and burn a full DVD.

Also VideoReDo Plus will allow you to edit the .gts file and save it as .mpg and a few other types...and it is fast. Doesn't offer a burn option though, but still pretty good to have.
