Question Nfusion and Motorola sb5100 and sb5101

Hello eveybody , i have been searching the net about the motorolla sb5100 and sb5101 premod modems that some people use to hide ip address by just setting up and plugging in ethernet in back of nfusion and then running through your regular modem and router ,is anyone on this site used this set up or know anyone who has ,seems you really cannot get much info on the net about them though they are fairly cheap , i do know they have installed the dd-wrt hack in them which is very good [i have it on my router]. Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated Thank's.

Cheeser,
The Sb5100 and 5101, are they working on the net of their own ? Because you have mentioned they are pre-mod which they should be working when you hook'em up to the cable. [ After a few setup of course ]
Now I am now so sure about hooking up thru a modem though.

I am not familiar with them, but somewhere.. in my roaming.. I read that premods do not work well with iks receivers. for what reason.. think it has to do with the IP addresses.. but.. I would not bet your life on that ..lol . txsgent

These modems will not effect your current cable modem in anyway. These modems can also be used to reach extremely fast speeds of up to 38mbit down and 3.3mbit up. There is no limitation on the amount of modems a household can use.

What's required to get my modem up and running?

Some form of basic cable is required, so you must be hooked up to receive a signal from your current cable company. You will also need to configure your modem accordingly to your ISP. Configuration will be done by referring to the advanced tutorial included in your modem purchase, along with support via email or internet relay chat. Modem Configuration is the key component to achieving online activity.

How difficult is it to get started after I purchase one of these modems?

1. You must configure your modem to get online with your current provider. Modem configuration will be done by a graphical user interface built into the modems firmware.

2. If you're using your modem for the IKS feature, you will simply connect your modem directly into your Fta Receiver via the Ethernet cable provided. Configure your Fta Receiver to receive an internet connection and begin your safe journey to internet key sharing.

Its simply that easy. ONE time configuration, and enjoy free and anonymous internet. This is simply the best solution for using internet key sharing safely and anonymously.

I have never programmed a modem to work on a certain IP address... did you do this..

start.. run, type in cmd hit enter.. new window pops up and you type in inpconfig hit enter again and look for IPv4.. here it should list.. your IP Address.. your Subnet (255.255.255.0) and your Gateway address... that should be enough info.. to program the premod.. with whatever program you have to program that premod with.. did it come with software to do that? txsgent

I have a friend that has a modded SB5101 . The modded modems run thier own firmware such as sigma, or haxxorware not DD-WRT. The firmware allows you to change the MAC address of the modem. You basically clone a mac address from a different subnet, and as long as the mac address that is cloned isn't on the same subnet it gets online. The MAC address that is cloned normally belongs to someone else, that could be located in a different area thereby providing anonymity.

The modem uses configuration files that tell it what bandwidth to use. The configuration file is associated with the MAC address. So when the modem comes online with a MAC address it goes to the ISP's server. The server checks to see if the MAC address is a valid address on their system, and then provides it with the configuration file and assigns it an IP address. As far as the speed goes some ISP's have higher ones, that allow you to Uncap it. You still have some form of cable coming into the house, whether it be a true Internet sub, or basic cable. It just depends if they put a filter on it or not.

He also states that the Cable Co's could trace it, but the costs of doing so outweighs the benefits because it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. He also says that people that abuse bandwidth from the uncaps, are the ones that setup flags for the ISP's. You also have to make sure that the MAC address that is used isn't on the same subnet. If the Mac Address is on the same subnet, then each modem "fights" each other for connectivity resulting in disconnects and most likely someone complaining that they are having problems with their internet and the ISP trying to find the cause.

As far as finding MAC addresses you need to run a program to do so. The program goes out and collects the various mac addresses out on the ISP's network and gives you the info as far as what speed it's running, what version of firmware, etc.

you can also mod the modem yourself

just look for a used Motorola SB5101 modem on craigslist, they're fairly cheap

order a jtag and 10 pin header online (google) and the software is free

One of my boy has those dudes, and he told me that the user has to input manually some numbers in this fashion;
Go to network connections
Click on properties
Go to connection that uses TCP/IP
Click on properties
Use the following DNS address
And so you insert the digits on both rolls and boom bang you are on.

You use the same dns digits to program your routers ps3 ftas and so on, he uses to test all his fta receivers.

Hope this helps to understand it better, he did not tell me about the modding process and I did not insist either maybe next time when I get him drunk..................hahaha
