hd receiver and tb

hey guys, hows it going? well i have a stupid question due to my own illeteracy. i just bought a hd tv and i have a sv8khd receiver. however i do not have a hd picture... im not using a hdmi cable just the red blue green ones. but i was told that i have to have a hd satelite. is this true or am i missing something else. a little help please????

first I answered you other question in another thread although you question was very similar

now as far as HD goes

component red, green, and blue is optimized for 1080i

HDMI is optimized for 1080p

All FTA HD receiver (hell all satellite HD receivers for that matter) or only 1080i there is nothing currently available for 1080p that's probably because no provider has a 1080p stream as of yet (can you say 5 years away)

buy yourself an HDMI cable...that way you dont have to pony up for Video (RGB cables) and audio (red , white) cables
