Viewsat Lite/Platinum/Extreme

Menu
Down arrow to intallation...OK
Enter Pin Code (0000 if you haven't changed it)
Down arrow to receiver upgrade...OK
What does it say for Main s/w? (This is the latest bin you have installed)
Exit out


Viewsat Ultra

Menu
Down arrow to system information
Right arrow to receiver information...OK
What does it say for Main s/w? (This is the latest bin you have installed)
Exit Out


Sonicview SV-1000

Menu
Installation
Down arrow to Version Information...OK
What does it say for Main software? (This is the latest bin you have installed)
Exit Out


Extremeview Magnum XV-3300

Right arrow to Install menu
Down arrow to Set-Top Box Upgrade...OK

Now, to answer your question... on the Sonicview 1000, you need to load
VO260P
if you meant the 1000PVR it is V0148...

Bin is short for binary. It's a binary file which you load in to a receiver. It's the firmware that controls it. There are factory binary files and third party binary files which are meant to go beyond standard Free to air TV like a factory file does.

I hope that helps explain it.
