alex....after the hard reboot let it stay on the same channel if the picture does not show up right away...it may take a minute or 2....I wish you well
Have you tried a local channel.. via rabbit ears.... to see if you still have the dark black at the bottom of the screen.. it could be a vertical issue.. on the TV causing that... how did the reboot do? let us know.. txsgent
