Diplexers and multy switches.
For those of you that don't know what a diplexer is I will tell you. A diplexer is a device that allows you to combine the signal from your satellite and antenna. That way you only have to run one cable into your house. In order for that to work properly you need two diplexers, one to combine the signal and another one to seperate it. They can also be used along with DP44 and Zinwell switches. They also work with diseqc switches. Take a look at the diagrams and if you have any questions just ask.

Hey UFC,
Thanks for the info. One question though, do they work ok, input or output ? It doesn't matter ?

Diplexors work well but, they introduce a lot of signal losses. I tried combining my HD cable box and sat receiver cables. It worked as long as the box that was not in use was turned off. Other wise the cable box picture would free if the sat box was on as well. Also it lowered the cable signal enough that some of the HD channels did not work. It also lowered the Quality level by 10 points on the Ultra.
I tried 2 different brands of diplexors with the same results. The RG6 quad cable was only 40 feet long between the diplexors and in good condition with compression connectors all around.
I finally ran a separate RG6 for the cable box and all was back to normal.

The only place I've ever used them was to send a signal to another TV while I was in government housing. The RF out from one receiver was sent through the diplexers then looped back to another TV. This was to keep from putting more holes in wall and running another cable. There was already one cable to each location. It worked well. I never had any issues. It was used with a Dual tuner DN box with a UHF remote for the 2nd room. If anyone is interested in that, I'll draw up a diagram.

I have no issues here with quality or anything. I am using the 22khz option also and I see no drop in quality. I am running a digital to analog converter and it picks up all the channels that it can.
