Default What is GC

A lot of people are wondering what GC is.
GC stands for Globecast. Globecast is a satellite located at 97 degree west (97.0 W). Today it is called Galaxy 25. In the very old days it's name was Telstar Five (T5) and later it was named as Intelsat Americas 5. This sat broadcasts true FTA channels which are mostly international channels, such as Persian, Arabic, Vietnamese, Chinese, English and many other languages. You need at least a 30" dish or bigger with linear LNB to catch this signal. To get a complete list of all the channels on this satellite, please visit Lyngsat @ http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy25.html

it's true free to air channels, that meant we don't need the auto key bin file for it,but why there is still global cast bin file for it? is it necessary to update the bin for the receiver?

some of the channels are scrambled. but most of them are true FTA. To get ALL channels you need the latest fix, otherwise the factory bin works for FTA channels.
