Default 3' Dish with New Dish Twin 110, 119, 118.7 LNB

OK here is my latest project.. it is a work in progress... I am still trying to make my 10' x 2 1/2" mast level... I am attaching it to a 4x4 frame that I use for my dishes.. that is.. from ground level... 2- 16' 4x4s 8' apart with 8' 2x4s.. but the 4x4 is not very straight....lol.. So it is a work in progress as I said.. need more shims....lol..
I thought I would post the 2 pics I have taken of the 3' dish I have had laying around since I moved.. 2 years ago.. and have always planned on mounting again.. for any reason I could think of... lol.

This is the new Twin LNB from DN that gets 110, 119 and 118.7 and has a bracket that adds 129 to it.. as you will see in the picture.. the 129 LNB is added to the twin..

I am fortunate that.. the middle LNB the 119 LNB.. has just enough room to use the original mount.. (yes I need to get some new stainless screws for it...lol)
So, I thought I would post the picture of the LNB mounted to the dish.. of course once I put it up.. I will have to tweak it but you can see by the Half moon mount.. It will be easy to adjust to the the Skew.. correctly.. and I can set the Elevation.. wish the Dish had Skew also.. but it does not.. that is why I am happy that I can rotate the LNBs to make up for the skew issue..

LNB and Mount below very simple to mount but was limited by the 3 fins that are on the newer LNBs so not much clearance..between the fins and the Mount for the 129 bracket... but enough to get it on.. just hope when I try to hit the 3 sats.. that I will have a good focal point on all 3 LNBs..
PICT0559.JPG

Front of Dish with LNB mounted.. yes.. I know it is on the ground .and I have lots of dead weeds in my yard....lol..

PICT0560.JPG

Hopefully I will be posting.. success.. when done... and not failure..
The fun is in trying.. even if failure...

This was the special 119/118.7 LNB I had on the dish.. with the plastic housing removed.. as you can see weather got to the White Plastic Cap on the end.. so I just removed it..
which is why I say the 119 on the Twin will work regardless.. I slid.. the total length of this LNB in and out.. on the mount.. same Quality Strength no matter where it was.. so I just moved it all the way back.... So Focal Point is not an issue for the Center LNB..
PICT0561.JPG

Here are the plastic Inserts for mounting an LNB. on that dish.. I removed these 2.. to make room for the larger LNB size on the Twin.. you can see how they are interlocking.. when used with the pair I left in the LNB Mount.. with the grooves and slots in the middle. Remember I have used this dish.. for close to 10 years.. so there is wear and tear on the parts.. I originally used just a 119 LNB on this dish and I have another one just like it that I used for 110... . I got these dishes.. for $45.00 from a company that was going out of business on Telephone Road. South Houston..

Those lnbs sure are close together - do you know if your arm is the same length as the one on a 1000+
I guess you'll find out - have fun.

I only know that.. the middle lnb the 119 lnb will work... so the focal point is good for that LNB.. the other 2.. not sure the curve of the dish is right.. but hope it is..
the reason I know that is.. because.. I used to have a 119 LNB in that position.. after removing the plastic housing on the LNB... to fit the mount... which comes with several integrated plastic sleeves to adjust for thickness..
Don't let the closesness of the White Eyes.. fool you... they are larger eyes... than the single/dual or older Twin lnbs are.. which makes them appear closer.. but they are not..

I have had success getting.. 110, 119, 118.7 and 129.. at 97% on my coolsat, best little box for setting up satellies there is..
It was not as easy as setting up a 1000.2 or 1000.4 or a 1000 Plus since I only had the Elevation on the dish and had to guess by rotating the twin lnb.. with 129 attached.. to hit the correct skew.. to hit the arc to bring in all the sats..
Focal Point was good.. . Skew using rotation of the lnbs.. to compensate for no SKEW.. on Dish.. took a lot of hit and miss. until I found the sweet spot for all 4 sats.
I ran into rain.. so put all away for the day... Will take a picture of the dish on a Sunny day. will take images of screens of all 4 sats also..
I tried using the Linkbox.. Which shows a little lower signal strength on the Quality Meter. but knowing I had 97% on the Coolsat.. I ignored... the lower reading. (those settings are preset at the factory).
I had ran one cable into the house to test it. on the Linkbox.. had only 1 polarity on the 118.7... so.. I stopped messing with it for the day.. I will try another receiver on it in the next day or 2..
So.. Focal Point.. Curve of the Dish.. was not an issue with the 3 LNBs.. to get good signal strength on the 3' Dish that was really designed for just 1 LNB.
More to come..

Well it sounds like you're going to be very happy when rainy season gets to you. That big dish should do wonders for rain fade. The new lnb sounds like it was made for the standard mount - lol Good job & it sounds like it was painless.

I am working on a 3' off set world dish ... found the mount that will work .. just trying to get all the LNBF's to work together ... I have tried a zinwell but not got it to work the way I want to ... with 5 lnbf.s ... going to try a dish 1000.2 dish with a duel lnbf ... not worried about getting 118.7 .... not big on getting internationals .. only the HD and the bev and d/n HD birds also the sd ones we are use to ... will show it off as soon as I get it done ... I removed my farm ... that at one time I had the photo posted ... 7 dishes was a bit to much .... lol

Not that you can tell.. but it is mounted on my 2 1/2" Pole attached to 4x4 Frame...lol..

lunapic_136561951211742_3.jpg

You can see the Elevation got a work out trying to hit that right spot .. as I moved the dish west and then Elevation gradually up and down until I hit the 119 Satellite.

Took a while to find the right spot for all 4 sats.. but well worth the time..

lunapic_136561951211742_13.jpg

Here are the other 2 dishs I have on my frame..

The Grey.. 1000.4 Western Arc just to the left of the 3' modified
lunapic_136561951211742_5.jpg

To the left of that.. I have a 1000.2 Western Arc
lunapic_136561951211742_8.jpg

Next will be my motorized PrimeStar dish... to put up...

saw a lnbf holder that they claim can get bev ... it moves to the lnbf's to any position ... so it may work they had it able to get it ... but they way they were mounted you would say you better have a birdview system like I have to tune in each lnb

If you're where you said you were the other day, your not getting bev any longer. You have to be a few hundred miles from the border except the east coast they get a little more.
