I hate 2 wire setups.... they seem to cause more issues than success... jmo...
So.. you have a cable modem? or maybe an AT&T modem?
Find a Router... Cheap.. that you can connect between the modem and the computer... to give you easier access by providing 4 etherent ports.. to use... Or just get.. a Router/Modem.... to use..

I am a fan of.. Router/Modem Combined... works so much easier to just plug 1 ethernet cable into the back of the router/modem and plug the other end into the Dongle. that is plugged into the DB9 Serial Port on the back of the Receiver...(have to make sure that is plugged in securely.. Take a legal pad size piece of paper and fold it up to the size of the dongle. and place under it.. find a straight thru cable.. 1' or 2' or 3' long... to connect to the back of the receiver and to the dongle.. less chances of it becoming disconnected... (jmo)

Now.for the SV 4000...

Menu.... arrow over to.. Network Settings.. and select Network settings
highlite and click ok on remote.. you should now see this
Network Settings
Server Type................... Private Server 1 thru 7 are your choices.. select one
Status.........................When all is correct... you will see Connected.. When something is wrong.. either with your settings.... or with the server itself.. on initial setup.. your settings.. more than likely It will show.. Connect Fail
Setting Type................DHCP.............with 2 wire modem you might have to use STATIC
DHCP(auto finds info for you).........STATIC you manually have to input the info...
In very faint numbers you will have info in the next 3 lines(if all is correct)
Local IP
Subnet
Gateway
DNS IP.............................should mach the Gateway Address
Retry Timeout....................12 or change to a different number to find one that works for you...
User Name........................provided by the server
Password..........................provided by the server
Use DNS............................Yes.. for alphabetical Address.. No for Numerical address
Domain Name...................input the address you chose to use above.. alphabetical or Numerical
Server Port.......................5 digit number
DES Key...........................28 digit number
