It will continue to have support until the coders stop writing code for it... but so far.. the coders have not deserted any of their receivers.... and hopefully.. they will not be like coolsat and drop support, of what made them famous.... jmo... txsgent

Thank you txsgent.
I had a CS5K. Just bought a SV4K in January. I hope SV takes better care of their customers than CS did.

I'm sure SV has learned from CS mistakes, and will not drop support for older units.

That should be done in a Thread of it's own.

BTW: I personally am disappointed in the decision to not import the SV360HD.
I have had unresolved issues with my SV8000HD (V1) and I know others are in the same boat as me. The SV8000HD is a good receiver when it works but all of them are not working and that is why I think that it is a bad decision on the Sonicview family not to import the new SV360HD.

I think that there may be more behind that decision than what is publicly known.
Maybe too many SV8000HD receivers sitting on the shelf??

What is your view on the SV Elite vs. SV Premier. There does not seem to be a big $ difference. Is one better than the other for ease of installation, programming and updating?

The SV360 Elite is has a real Dual Tuner built in as well as a OTA/DTV connection port. You won't find that in any other FTA receiver that I know of.
