I finally found the problem with the sleep problem .I found that if I go to menu > Utility> then to usb ,I found if you hit the red button and pull up configure menu
and select the port that the drive is plugged into and it doesn't go to sleep and is ready all the time . If I pick auto detect it goes to sleep and if I pick the front 1 it stays awake all the time, as mine is plugged into the frt port .< Danstoy >
I've set my WD external My Book HD up this way but when 1st set up it asks for a password all the time. Even if the HD isn't hooked up. No TV either till you enter the password.
If you want to be able to turn your HD and CNX receiver off and not be asked for a password.
Go to Menu - Options - Parental Lock and you will notice that in configuring the usb port, it turned Parental Lock ON.
Turn Parental Lock OFF and now it won't ask for a password and the HD is recognized ever time, even after it has been turned off, unhooked or switched to DivX.
This is a definite keeper!!
