Okay guys, dont shoot the messenger.

This is a C/P from Cheap TC Coder.

"I'm Cheap TC coder, if you have a standalone BIN , it came from me. If you have a dongle BIN , it didn't come from me. I dont work for Captain, matter of fact Captain has issued threats on me, to get me to stop making bins for their boxes. They don't want their boxes used for piracy. Their market in US pales in comparison to their market in the middle east. I figured out an inject point to remove some features from the factory file and set up CAS function, compiled separately, and fix checksum and version info. If its a standalone BIN , it was made by my hands. If you look, there are some captain 8000's with some changes made to try to prevent my bins from working, notably a wire attached to a diode running from the power supply to a point on the board, to change the boot point of the CPU... I bypassed that in software, and that was the delay in March, and April. Figuring out which units had the boot change in software was difficult.... Delays all have a reason, and the reason the releases are sometimes slow, is BECAUSE of the fact that Captain, Inc. is so hard pressed to stop their units from being FLASHED with third party software."

I did not post this in the rumor section as it came directly from the coder.

Ok..But the issue still stands...will there be more bins for stand alone or just give up and add a new brick to the wall.??

Not sure how credible his statements are, but if they are true, the way I understand it is Captain has no intentions to have their box used for testing. If that is the case, I don't think standalone as well as dongle units will be in operation any longer. If someone else has a better insight and understanding into this situation, please share w/the community. We are all interested to find out more.
