Hello to the group!

I'm a FTA Newbie and need some help.

Here's my set-up:
CNX DUO desqc switch
Dish Network 1000.2 dish.

Port 1 desq 1 119W
Port 2 desq 2 110W
Port 3 desq 3 129W

I do a blind scan of each satellite and get about 40 channels on 119
10 channels on 110 these wont unscramble
and nothing on 129

All the channels I'm getting seem to be local network channels from around the country, no premium , cable or PPV channels.

I have the 2.41 UPB and the 0909_1307 EXX loaded.

So how do I get more channels??

Thanks for the help guys!

Barry

yes you should get more channels 1st off auto scan dont blind scan what is your signal and quality on each sat if you are using a dish 1000 you shouldnt need a disqec switch !

Interesting, thanks for the reply. If I don't use the switch, how do I get all three feeds to the receiver??

When I auto scan no channels come up in the TV menu. I wonder if I am doingit wrong?

Signal quality is around 90 on the green bar.

Thanks again for all the help!

Barry, what is the % in the quality bar? Don't worry about the signal bar, we want your quality bar as high as it can get.

Yes both S and Q bars read in the 70-90 range on the channels I am getting. I'm now learning that thechannels I am getting only last about 30 minutes or so, then they freeze and I get the scramble sign.

I must really have something set up wrong!?!

What provider are you pointed at? BEV or DN?

I'm pointing at DN.

I don't understand what BEV is? Is that Echostar also at 119W??

Still can't get my received channels, which aren't many to stay unscrambled very long.

Help!!:new

Thanks Gang!,

Barry

Have you tried the new patch from yesterday, you can find it in the files section for CNX Duo. BEV is short for Bell ExpressVu, which is the Canadian satellite provider. Echostar 119 is a DN satellite. Try the new patch and let us know if it works out for you. Good luck Barry.

Thanks for the tip on the new patch. My channels stayed unscrambled all night! Now if I can only figure out how to get more than 10 channels. :banana

Thanks Again!

Well, I'm up with tons of channels nowAmen.

Turns out I was pointing at the 129 satellite instead of the 119. Once I got the dish dialed in on the 119 and redid the blind scan all the channels started coming in. 129 is also well populated with channels now.

For some reason I'm getting nothing on 110 even though the signal seems good (abvove 80). At this point I'm not too worried about it as 119 and 129 seem to have about everything covered.

Thanks again for all the help guys!:clap

Barry

Glad to hear you got 119, now we need to help you get the 110. It sounds like a tweaking issue to me, signal is above 80%, but what is the quality % at?
