View Full Version : Missing Signal of TP's

I think I have narrowed down my problem but I want the opinion of some of you here.
My setup is different from most but very functional. I have 3 SATs and 8 Receivers. I am using DAVE LNB's hooked into a Zinwell 6X8. The Zinwell requires 2 connections from the LNB. 1 to go into the 13V and the other into the 18V. I am using the poor man's dish setup by placing another LNB on the side to get 110.
I have lost many of the TP's on 119 but 110 is fine. I have both 90% S&Q on a few TP's and nothing on most of the others. Seems worst on the lower TP's. I took the switch out of the picture and hooked up direct to the calbe and still the same problem. So I dont believe it is the switch. It happens on all receivers so it is not the settings.
I believe that it is the LNB or the cable.
Anyone else have any ideas?

shut off all your receivers and leave one on . then do one at time find out which one is absorbing the signal from you.youl see where your getting your signal loss.

If, you have taken the switch out of the equation.. have you replaced the cables going to 119? have you checked the connections on those cables? Have you tried replacing the lnb? Did you run, grounds to the dishes? and grounding blocks to the cables.. and also ground the switch? I also must ask.. since you are using a zinwell switch.. are you using the powered side on the 119? it does not agree with DN receivers.. so all dn connections should be unpowered.. 22khz off.. I run 2 zinwell 4x4s.. unpowered on 110 and 119.. and powered on 91 and 82.. then combine with sw21 switches.. and I run into issues from time to time.. of it not switching, but i just go into setup.. and to the sat. that is not switching and move it over one sat and come back and wait for it to recognize and then exit out have have channels on that sat.. now 2 of my receivers.. will not cooperate on that.. so I just turn it off and back on.. and that resolves thoses issues.. I am just to lazy, to put up my powered sw64 switch lol also try coors suggestion of testing each receiver, seperately.. and see which is the power hog.. normally DTV lnbs.. are pretty good.. let us know. txsgent

It seems like both of us have an unusual setup. Even with taking the switch out of the equation I still have the problem. I will change out the LNB first before making new runs. i checked the cable to the best of my ability and found no problems. I am very interested as to what you were saying about the powered and unpowered. We will talk about this again sometime after I resolve this issue.
Thanks
