Good friend of mine that codes and contributes greatly to the FTA community as a whole made an interesting comment yesterday
"Of all the FTA sites on the www that charge memberships not a single one has thrown so much as a doggie biscuit my way as a thank you for me posting files or other important info that keep end users and advertisers coming to their sites"
Such is life I guess but hey I must say FTA Concept loads much faster now that you axed all the file leechers...good job guys :clap
So does this site give anything back to the people that make it what it is?

-JimmyHoffa-So does this site give anything back to the people that make it what it is?
I guess the best answer to your question is Knowledge and a Sincere Gratefulness for helping others . The Entire Staff is Unpaid and Volunteers there time for the Betterment of the site and membership .
I am sure you will find this site unlike any other as the staff is here to help without Belittlement no matter what knowledge level the poster may have , So we all Pay it Forward for the Betterment-O-The Community .
The recent site changes were much needed because of rising cost$ maintaining an Off Shore Secure Server and New VIP membership volume was not keeping up with the cost increases so no choice was left but to implement the New VIP Policy .
Thanks for being an understanding member and we value your help to others as once someone helped you ,,,

I meant what do you all give back to the ones (ie: coders) that provide the goods that bring the people here.? My buddy says he's never seen a material return of any kind on what he provides to the FTA community for free but in the same breath says some sites are raking in 10's of thousands from his and other peoples work. An example would be converted Fortec files, anyone ever send the guys working on that private non commercial project 20 bucks for beer and pizza?

That is asking a loaded question.... no proof to back up the statement.. but it is my belief.. that the coders... who actually write the files.. are paid by an unknown source..... which can not be mentioned here... because there are people who would pay lots of money to know that answer..... as far as your friend is concerned.... our hats are off to them.. and many thanks for taking the time to write any files that help people who converted files minus the clone killer for the 2500's..... to 2700s. There are several people who take the time to convert the files necessary.. and it is deeply appreciated... though no money is offered for the work, they do.... have a good one, txsgent

JH - I have spent years on-line now helping others without getting paid 1 cent.
I do sometimes get a receiver for testing but that doesn't happen all the time.
The site owner gets a small contribution from the sponsors adds that are on the site, but that doesn't rake in that much money. The site sponsors get sales (hopefully) from the members at the site and that is how they get paid. The coders (most likely) get paid from the manufactures for making the bins that people put into their receivers for testing purposes. I am not privey to any other special details.
I am a mushroom just like a lot of other folks at these forums. I am in the dark most of the time and given or fed a bunch of do-do...
