This is one of the newest models available on the market, the CaptiveWorks 800 PVR loaded with all new features, it’s a lot better than CW 600s or CW 600s Premium. It has nice On Screen Display and Component Video output for connection to newer TVs. Continuing the tradition of excellence, the CaptiveWorks 800 PVR comes with a NEW Universal Remote control to easily control your television, VCR, DVD or receiver volume. The first thing I noticed about this unit was the high level of quality both inside and outside. A nice black finish and a big CaptiveWorks 800 stamped on top of the receiver.

With new models and more advanced receivers being released by CaptiveWorks, it is also notable that we pay respect to one of the most popular fta boxes on the market today. The CaptiveWorks 800 PVR is one of those units that really set the standards for all other brands and it still shows. With all of the newer units being released we still think that this digital satellite dish receiver is an excellent choice for dish newbies and those who are looking for a now considered basic system with PVR that is a snap to operate.

Turned on the T.V and switched on the CW 800 from the rear switch. The first thing you see on the vacuum display is BOOT then STARTUP and 0000. Once the screen came up I hit the usb button and there was the file on the stick ready to load, then i just hit ok and yes to re-boot, I did factory default out of habit and set up just as you would do for any of your receivers. Then scanned 119,110 it did seem to scan very quick, after it’s done with scanning, I pressed exit all the way out and waited for the keys to roll. Within two min. the picture came on, I have to say the picture looks very sharp. Audio and video in sync, thanks to CW Coders.

If you want a good, cheap and highest PVR receiver, CW 800s is the one for you. Highly recommended by me. Check out our Sponsor on top of the forum (ftapros) for the best deals and free shipping.

I have 2 of these CW800 units and its the best receivers I ever had. Its user friendly, easy to set up and program via USB stick and let alone its one of the first to release a bin that gave us back the PPV's on B** this time around.

Captiveworks job well done :clap

I'm sure I will.

Hey, I read at f2atv that this receiver as well as the new ones coming out are no longer made by Coolsat and that they only carry the name. Do you know anything about that?

same boat as I am in...you would think $149.00 easy to pay out for a receiver like that but with a set income and my houses taxes jumping each year by at least 25%..and the cost of fuel going up from under a buck a gallon to over 3 bucks in just 4 years...has hit hard also
being retired seems to be everyones goal in life..just sit back and take it easy..they never told you that when you do not get a income but your retirement and the rental from your extra houses...plus your SS income...it is far less than you were making while you were working.....lol
