Hi guys, I am a proud owner of a Viewsat Pro and am looking to jump on the HD bandwagon. My question is that do the HD receivers differ in picture quailty i.e. Sonicview, Viewsat, Coolsat etc.

I know many members have more than one HD receiver or have tried a few. I just want input on which do you think has the best picture quaility/price punch before i shell out $400

Thanks!

I really like my VS9000HD with 8psk ...

It is really nice with the new GUI, there are still some bugs with the software, like timeshift being broken, but picture quality is awesome .....

that is my .02

I saw the review, but the price is kind of steep. Im not much into features you know. If the channels come in HD and i get surround sound, I'm happy.

It costs more then $400 for HD after the receiver you need a card to receive DN HD. You also need to make sure the receiver supports MPEG4 all DN is going that way in August.

As of today, I think the cost for SV8000 or VS9000 is about $350-$399. The 8psk card will cost about little less than $130-$150. There are places that you can buy pre-installed 8psk. The ones I saw will cost about $519. The price is dropping though. It used to cost $500 just to get the unit without the module.
