Thinking of picking up a CW 3000HD. A local guy for me has one for sale. $500 with a 250 GB HDD and Skywalker.
The question is this: What do ya all think of yours? Any opinions, thoughts, feelings, etc?
I am not scared to learn, and he has done all the work of setting it up for the first time. It would be a project so I am just trying to soak up as much info as I can. I have the fact sheet. I have looked at brand new ones, and I really like what I see. So please sound off and let me know what you like and/or dislike about this so I can make a good choice.
Thanks for any input you provide
get or sell it to me...I will take it
it is a computer with a media system running Linux OS
has a duel AMD 64 CPU....and uses a flash memory for the OS and can be duel but..that system would go for about a grand with the High Deff
it has a DVD built in and also a place to put another...also you can put in two 500 gig drives...and 8 gig's of memory
so it is not just not a FTA ....it is a full computer

Thanks for both of your info. I am going to pick it up. The guy that I am buying it from has 4 of them and selling only one. I have a deal in place for it that it will only cost me $375 out of pocket. He is going to take my SV 360 Elite in trade.

So I gotta ask... since this beast has LAN does that mean when it is connected to the net that there would be IKS with it?

Since you have one Ngo... let me ask you if Linux is that hard. I am not scared to learn, but is it like trying to learn a new language that is forced onto you?

this depends on what you are planning to do with the 3000hd. if you are just going to watch tv, and wait for update files to come out.... this system is fairly basic. what you need knowledge of linux for is to actually dig in and modify or create programs and files.
remember the recovery disc is your friend, lol.
