View Full Version : Memory Leak Possible??

Hello everyone.

I still cannot figure out why my CNX mini gives me a "wrong file" error message when I try to playback perfectly fine videos that I have recorded on my HD. These files played perfectly up until about 3 weeks ago.

After LOTS and LOTS of testing with different bins and patches the only thing I can come up with is I think the CNX has a memory problem which is preventing it from playing back movies. I have about 20 movies on the drive and when all of them are on, my mini may playback the first file I select, but once I stop it to play another I get the message.

Last night I backed up my vids on to a different HD and started to test the mini by copying 1 file at a time to my CNX HD. It works perfectly until I have around 4-5 movies then it starts up again giving me the error. The thing I find strange is that my mini was working fine with 15-30 movies on it before.

I have even tried to play them back with only the new factory bin installed and no 3rd party software and it still doesn't work. Do you guys recommend me contacting CNX to see if this is a common problem. My unit is still covered until warranty. I def will not tell them where I got the videos from since the factory bin enables PVR anyway.

Any help is appreciated.

What happens if you do hard reset then start playing a different video?

sometimes it will work...its hit and miss but more often miss. If it even plays it will only play once. If I stop it, then immediately replay it from the beginning it will give me the "wrong file" error. I wonder if the manufacturer will help me since it does this even with the factory bin.

That good question, maybe it's just problem with one bin and can be worked out.
