Is it true you can convert Coolsat 4,5,6,To Skyview ?

Can anyone tell me if the post ( by XRange ) Coolsat 4,5,6,To Skyview is a good post?
Was thinking about trying if my coolsat 6000 bin goes down .

Timer, have you tried to convert a Coolsat to a Skyview? I know for a fact that X would not have posted this if it weren't true.

If it could be converted then what third party will be used,rx600 or sky 1000 plus. If it could be converted to a rx600 then the file would be CWSV,the mother board of the skyview rx600 is a captive works regular. The processor in the skyview 1000 plus is a 200 monster,it doesnt add up to me. I gave it a try with what was posted,other members here posted negative results,it looks like that the best that could be done was to install the cs factory. Maybe somebody knows more then I do. Xrange posted the conversion as a trial brought from another board.

Would this have any negative side effects on the support offered by Skyview, as the clones did for Coolsat?

Skyview no longer supports the rx600,all bins for the rx are captive works regular. There is no way coolsat could be converyed to the skyview 1000 plus.

i am going to go for it and convert my paper weight to the skyview either today or tomorrow, just going to consult some friends that are smarter than me first as to wether o not i am screwing up or not before i do.

my guestion is does anyone know what version i will be converting to w/ skyview?

i assume you need to know what model you have to load the proper files, right?

I personally think you are better off picking up a new reciever alot less problems this way !! i kno some who have tried converting and spent more time yelling and screaming then it is worth! i think it is better to learn from someone who has done it succefully !!

ok I have heard this but when i open a cs6k and looked for the jtag points i did not find it but people who have old cs6K i am willing to pay for shipment if u all are going to make paper weight or boat anchors lol Dont trow out cs6k they can still be used for true fta and amazonas and who knowa it must be have other networks out there only wating for us .A couple of days ago to me amazonas was not posible today i have it running and its working real good.pluss there are other birds like 30w that have true fta

I did this jtag, It puts the factory file from coolsat back in the unit, would of been easer to use the cable
