It is FAT32, actually all usb's are formated FAT32 out of the box. It works, it records I can watch it right after I record something, but a few hours later it says WRONG FILE and cant access it anymore

I am having the same problem and posted it in another thread. I can say that it is not a formatting issue or a space issue. I have a 500Gb HD with only 40gb's used and it was working like a charm up until a few days ago. Records fine like the TS said but playback is being a b$tch.

If anyone has anything to add it would be greatly appreciated.

Try a hard reboot, if that doesn't work probably the file you recorded got corrupted somehow.

I have the same exact problem and I have tried a hard boot on both the unit and the hard drive. I know the files are not corrupt because files that I recorded and watched previously do not work now out of the blue.

It would be really great to know what the cause is so if anyone has any information or has contact to any Conaxsat Construct team members could you please pass the issue along it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Two things, check to make sure the USB cable is secure in the USB port and it could be that a factory reload and then current release might fix the issue...Other than this, could be a bug in the current release...try loading an older release and see if the issue goes away when watching a recorded program.

Thanks for the help guys but so far nothing has worked. I am getting very frustrated. I have done everything I can think of. I have even tried using my small thumb drive instead of my HD and that doesn't work either. I am hoping for a new patch from CNX to help resolve this problem.

What brands of usb keys is everybody using. I'm using a Kingston 8gig. For some reason if the usb key is left hooked up to the port, after a few hours the TS file gets corrupted. All other software files are fine. Can't explain it.

I am using a LaCie 500GB HD and a kingston 1gb USB key. A file may work once after I do a reset on both the unit and HD, but then if I stop it and try to play it again it tells me "wrong file". I know the file is not corrupt because I just watched it 2 mins prior!!

It's almost as if after the unit plays 1 file, the unit or memory locks up and prevents anything else from playing. It doesn't even allow me to load a bin (I get the same "wrong file" message)

Hopefully it is not just me (it sounds like it isn't) and the CNX Construct team addresses this problem. My 500GB I got brand new less than 2 months ago and was working perfect up until about a week ago. The drive works perfect on my CPU as well.
