Understanding Lyngsat site
lyngsat.com ?site is the best site for ALL satellite info...locations, transponders, frequency, Polarization , LNB's needed, availability, channel packages etc

All Thanks go to ACRadio

Note: This refers to the names of satellites that have since been changed such as I5 to Galaxy 25 (97W), but all the info is relative to what is still used at that site today.
Here is a link to the site: http://www.lyngsat.com/america.html

Understanding Locals on Lyngsat One good place to start is http://www.lyngsat.com/uslocal/index.html where you can select your state and navigate to specific local channels. It is fairly straight forward and intuitive. However, locals are also available to Puerto Rico and nearby Caribbean islands. To locate those, you need to either understand the spotbeam map (attached as file) or simply navigate lyngsat in search of them.

The PR locals are located on spotbeam 49 which is on E*’s satellite located at 110W. You can navigate to it or bookmark it for future reference at http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/dish110.html (other satellites can also be bookmarked in a similar fashion. See below) to return quickly. You will find PR locals on the R polarity transponder frequency 12574 in the group identified as spotbeam 49. You can find spotbeam 49 on the attached file and see that it includes PR and nearby islands.

Also attached is another file for mainland US that shows the transponder number for spotbeams (PR is not on this map) indicated by color ring. Here you will see that there are often overlapping spotbeams but never overlapping on the same transponder. That is why the exact number of channels varies widely from location to location.

If your local channels (or other "local" channels) are indicated as CONUS, they are available throughout the CONtinental US and generally other areas where coverage is available.
