I know Charlie and B3V are down but I had this problem prior.
when i let the recever sit off for awhile the remote will not power up the receiver. when I power of then on it will then allow the unit to power up with the remote.
Any ideas?
I tried to search this forum with no luck.

I'm having the same problem with my 7100. Some times it won't turn on with the remote. Turn the back switch off then on again it will work. Seems to have started with mine after bin 149 was installed.

Another thing I noticed was at 12 am my clock reads 0000 and not 1200. Im using a 12 hour clock format. Anyone seen this? Maybe this is normal but I never noticed it before bin 149. Then I noticed the turn on problem with the remote.

Your right, it was bin 149 when this started to happen

Same problem here.
The unit seems to freeze over night and then don't respond to the remote. Reboot from the back button fix it, but...

Thanks for the welcome LIVEUPDATE.
Seems like im not the onlyone having this remote problem.
Has anyone figure out the fix or is it a gremlin in the bin?

Well my unit has not responded to the turn on of the remote several times the past few days. I must do a hard reset every time to get it to work again. Anyone had any luck with this problem?

No I have not tried the last file. 149 has been working ok for me, except for the remote problem, so I have not updated yet. By the way 151 was pulled because it was not a complete file. Only 82.5 K and not 1.24 Meg. Grasshopper is awaiting the new correct file.

Has anyone tried 150 with any luck with the remote problem?

It seems odd that after a reboot the remote works fine for several hours.
But after along sleep it goes dormant.
Why would a BIN affect this part of the firmware.
Am I correct in thinking the BIN is just for decoding and not a complete redo of the operating system?

I tried the new 151 file and it made no difference with the remote turn on problem for me. I have also noticed with file 149 and 151 that the clock will freeze up when this happens.

your not the only one with this issue, i just came back from norw release site, seems this has been a problem with the last four or five releases. so its a file issue and nothing on your end, just hang tight till they get this bug worked out....

Guys you are right....I'm actually surprised it took this long for this issue to be reported here....It is a bug in the NORW file....among many others that you may also be experiencing since 148...

Sound synchronization issues...video gets ahead of sound!!!!
EEPG missing info many DN channels even after load the Ehco guide (blue button).
Random freezing...have to change channels to get video back...sound may sometimes continue but no video...(BTW..151 seems to have fixed this issue)
Receiver locking up when in standby mode and displays a random number...most common reported is 0 & 8...Have to hard reset to fix....
Future recordings set don't start on time...random if it starts at all...(seems to have been fixed in 151).

Hang in there...it would seem the NORW group has it's hands full with the latest ECMs....

Cheers

With bin 155 the remote still is not working correctly...:banghead

as stated the coders are aware of the issues, just takes some time to fix them as they have been busy with all the ecms lately..;)

I know this is not a fix but it seemed to work for me and someone else may want to try this to confirm that is does work, but I was having remote turn on problems with my CS7100. It seemed like every few hours it would not turn on and I would have to do a hard reset to get it to work again. So just playing around I set the clock from Auto to Manual in the setup yesterday morning and by the next morning I have not had any problems turning on the unit with the remote.

Well scratch setting the clock from auto to manual. It did lock up when in stand-by and would not turn on so I had to do a hard reset. It did take about 32 hours before it locked up.

Just thought I would mention that the power on problem is still there and has not changed.
Does anyone know if someone is working on this or did it get pushed off to the side?
Its no real problem, I just have to be less lazy and go and power off then on the receiver.

it may be a glitch in the remote or reciver, this is not a problem for me,i dont think its a software issue but the hardware
