Ok we have had WAY too many post regarding whats goin on with the coolsat 4/5/6k units and there files! So Im hopin this will help you understand why the bin files are lacking compared to a couple months ago!

1- these recivers are outdated! (simliar to black and white tv's can you really still buy one from a store?) Not likey unless it is a 2nd hand store where these reciers are goin to end up!
2- they are comparable to a comodor 64 computer you are not likely to get a computer tech to work on it without laughing they are old and out dated ! They can be fixed but will take awhile like these receivers for there files slow and steady!
3- Can you bring your 1959 chevy belaire to any garge to get fixed or seviced ? NOPE these are all points to think about!

Please don get me wrong these unit are still very good to watch True free to air you dont need bin files for this so dont throw them out they can be used if you get a dish for true free to air and motor this unit will work GREAT!!!

So to conclude this these units are getting OLD and im sure you have gotten your $ out of them! if you have used it for 1yr and you paid $120 for it this unit cost you only $10 a month which is cheaper then cable and sat tv from a provider!Hope you all under stand if you are looking for a new reciver please check out our site sponser they have great deals and REAL units NOT CLONES here is a link to the receiver review section of our forum! to help you get in the direction of a new receiver!

I understand what you are saying, i still however think it is something that did not have to happen. I have been testing for 5 plus years. I have Pansat's 2500, 2700 and those too are outdated but they are still supported. It comes down to the company and Coolsat has no interest in keeping customers while others do, AND THEY DESERVE ALL THE BAD PUBLICITY THEY GET FOR TAKING THIS POSITION. Your company is here for the long haul or its not and the answer is clear here. Coolsat is in it to make as much as they can as quick as they can. At Least we now know! Thank you FTA Concept for providing us this site!

Thanks for the post Mr Shady, I too have a CS5000, and being relatively new to this, I was a bit confused what was going on. Thanks for the insight, especially the true FTA suggestion, I don't completely understand what you mean by that, but I intend to look into it now. If my CS5000 can still be used for something, I'd like to be able to utilize that.

Thanks again!!!

That is the biggest bunch of Bull SH.T that i have ever heard! The comparison is no where near the samething! You are talking about something that is 65 years old and something that is 5 years old!!! Well tell me this. Why are receivers of other brands that are just as old as coolsats 4,5,6 still getting good support! I think it has more to do with the clone coolsat receivers like the Megasat 4000 and cooltec! Truthfully the coolsat 4000 is just as good as any receiver for watching tv expect for a HD receiver!Amen

Great post Mr. S, but as you can already see... some people except it and some don't.. lol
Support for the Coolsat 4/5/6000 is intermittent at best... at times. they feel guilty and post fixes.. but most of the time.. they don't post fixes for weeks on end... which is not the kind of support most owners want.... owners have options... put a factory file back on... and trade it in.. for 79.00 for a 6100.... or as already suggested use it for FTA(Free To Air), which will pick up anything that is broadcast in the clear.. on any satellite up there.. though it is mostly.. news, international, and religious.. there are some channels that might catch your attention.... a motor.. and the right lnb(s) and the right size dish.. and you would be amazed at what you can find.... sure it won't be... all the channels you get on DN or BEV... but it is totally legal... If you want to complain. about lack of support... no one will blame you.. as long as you do it.. respectfully.... if you want to face reality and move on... the staff will more than likely congratulate you ... for seeing the full picture.... and saving bandwidth.. by not posting where is my 4/5/6000 fix.. over and over and over again... lol The owners of these models.. must understand by now.. a fix, will be posted, when it is available.. and all the asking, griping and complaining, will not get a fix any sooner.. it only frustrates the end user and the staff.. having to deal with the repetitive posts.. that accomplish nothing at all..
Pertaining to the 2500 being supported... that is not totally true... Pansat dropped support of it... some very dedicated coders... figured out how to convert it to a 2700, and take the time.. to write. files for it.. but they are all done, by small groups... there are now.. several different versions of 2700 conversions... the most popular now being the puff conversion...
The 4000... is a good receiver... but it is limited on its memory... and it, is getting harder and harder for the coders to squeeze the necessary info.. required.. into the file.... if you have noticed... files are getting larger to handle.. all that DN and BEV are doing... especially on the HD receivers... It will do absolutely no good to tell anyone to move on... some people, just can't get it... it is easier to complain.. protest.. than buy a different brand and make and model receiver... and stay upset.. over the lack of support... but it will change nothing... the lack of support, wil continue... and to me.. and this is JMO... it is not worth the hastle.. or the frustration... or aggravation.. which is why, I have many other receivers.... and before anyone starts posting.. that they can't afford to get a new receiver... for that.. we all are saddened... that life can be that hard for some.. but.. if you want to continue to watch, what you have been watching.. on a more regular basis... then you need to figure out a way to save a few bucks here and a few bucks there.. until you can.. there are cheap alternatives.. and I am not recommending any brand.... but Captive Works.. puts out a pretty reasonably priced receiver... so does Captain... well... I am done with my soap box. now... the choice is yours.... move on.. or stay frustrated.... good luck.. txsgent

Great post mr Shady. This box lack memory, and people need to learn to accept this fact and move on.
Are get motor & Dish for true fta to put box to work..

Everyone needs to set back and think what all they got for free if they had paid it would been whole lot more.. That just like some HD boxes they will run out memory for we know & you know these boxes cost lot more.
So it going be more then just Coolsat boxes for long.

Oh yeah. My little CW600 just has tons more memory than the coolsats and is light years faster. Yeah right. You guys need better "Facts," and the comparisons are about as loony as you can get. Lots of good info on this site but this thread is just not one of them.
