Hey all, I'm new to this site, and just trying to figure out my way through this maze. in the meantime, my coolsat 5000 has been down for about 2 weeks, and were getting frustrated. Wondering if anyone has any ideas or new bins, or where to find em. Thanks

Welcome to ftaconcept Krazy_kats. The support of the cs 5000 is going to lag so the files are not available at the moment. My suggestion to you is get another box. CW, Pansat, SV, VS, CNX, nFusion are all good boxes to have.

thanks for the reply, what do you of viewsat, were debating it, but weve been told that fixes would still take a while.

I don't own any viewsat receivers but if you go with one of the newer models support is going to be one of the best.

Sweet, thanks so much for your help. One more thing, which in your opinion should we go with right now, between the ones you mentioned?

It all depends on what features you are looking for. Do you want a PVR do you want 95% uptime, do you want easy installation, do you want to use usb stick to load new bins. Is price important do you do you want HD. You have to decide what you want and I can point you in the right direction.

Well, that all sounds good, and were not too worried about price, as long as its not crazy expensive, say about 2 hundred, something like that. With the coolsat, we spend more time trying to get fixes and searching forums than we spend watching the damn thing, lol

The CW800 is priced at around $150 and if you add a hard drive it will record. You load bins with a usb stick. The CNX releases bins fairly quick and are priced around $150's also. The pansat 3500sd releases files fairly quick but you have to load bins with the serial cable or via the sd card. The SV360 elite has a dual tuner and it is a new box great for recording. The nFusion does not need bins but it needs to be connected to the internet while watching tv.

ufc has given you great advice.... I own 2 CS5K units. i have gotten my full use from them. I keep them around because they are simply reall good units for True FTA......

If you are looking for more, the choices of the new SV360 series, Captiveworks 800, NFusion and Viewsat are good... Check the review section...
