Poison ivy causes a skin reaction from the oil on the leaves. Soap and water are the best things to use to keep from spreading and don't scratch it. That makes it worse and will spread it. Calamine lotion put on the rash will help with the itch.

You can get some cream that helps with poison ivy from any drugstore over the counter.

Elrod.. sorry you have been busy.. if you catch right away. you can use a common kitchen item. called cream of tartar.. which is actually the scrapings from a wine barrel.. mix with water to make a paste, old home remedy. You can go to any major drugstrore.. there are several cures.. they all take several applications.. you might want to try these.. tecnu.. use it several times a day.. till it is gone.. or you can try from CVS Poisn Ivy. There is another one out.. I can't remember the name of it.. but they claim one aplication and it is gone.. but it goes for around 30 bucks.. good luck, with the Poison Ivy, txsgent
