Question on key

Keys are for cards? Is that right? Does FTA receivers use BIN's only or keys too?
Can someone please point me to the info to understand this. I think FTA recievers are BIN only for B3V and Charlie, right?
I love learning new things and knowing how things work.

Keys are also needed for FTA boxes but bins usually have the auto roll function built in. What that means is that when you put a new bin into your receiver then it will auto roll until it finds the correct keys. You hardly have to use the key menu but most boxes have it available if you happen to need it.
