The only complaint I have with the remote that came with the 600P is that it does'nt work
all the time and some times...not at all.I have read all the posts about the problem and some of the solutions are:
Let the box set for a few days, put a piece of black tape over the eye on the stb(not covering
the whole eye though),put a new ir in the remote from an old remote, open the stb and make sure
the solder points are soldered, make sure components are seated properly or seat them, buy
a new universal remote(but it's not much better I'm told,or it's "bin fatigue",plus many other
reasons and cures. This reminds of all the cures that existed for baldness 50 years ago.
Today,I was so frustrated that I pulled the CW out of service and put in my old trusty CS 6000.
Does anyone know what causes it and what is the cure for it?

The only problem I have with CW remotes.. are they are too sensitive.. they jump 2 or 3 channels instead of one.... though at times.. it is hard to get it to recognize.. 1,2 or 3.. from time to time... the only thing I can suggest.. is to remove the cover from the receiver.. make sure that the IR sensor .. is close to the opening... sometimes. they are leaning one way or another.. or to far back.... but do it carefully as to not break it...
Also. you can take the remote apart and check the sensor there also... and try to make it closer to the opening.... that is all I can suggest..other than getting a different remote... all together... maybe a high dollar logitech/harmony remote.... or a less expensive.. OneForAll.. 9910.... which you can get programmed over the phone on M-F... during normal working hours... I use one.. for a viewsat and Coolsat... but.. I can only suggest... I do not recommend.... good luck... hope that helps.. txsgent

if your CW is like the CW800 then the remote problem is there as well. I don't do much channel surfing but I do notice that problem as well. If my remote stops responding then I just leave it alone until it does and continue with my business.

Niemand, heres a longshot remedy, remove batteries from your hrc then depress each and every button on the remote, replace with fresh batteries. Sometimes the stb button needs to be clicked,if tv or vcr button has been punched the remote will not change channels.

Sometimes you can remove the batteries.. and short across the battery terminals in the remote.. to discharge the capitor and that helps too... but not often... another longshot... lol txsgent
