I am totally frustrated here regarding the 8100. the last three bins I have put on I am not getting any d/n. I have tried shutting it off, reloading numbers manually, turning A/R off and NOTHING.!! Tried factory resetting it, putting in the 0106 provider and that worked for ONE bin only. Nobody is responding and I am PI$%#@. Different sugestions or is it only my receiver?

P.S Bev works fine on same receiver, have a pansatt 2500 converted to 2700 that is connected to the IF outlet and everything works fine on it. I am shutting pansatt off when running the 8100

bad ass

check your settings.also do factory rest before downloading bin and a hard reboot.you might have to change on settings your lnb eg port 1,2,3,4.good luck

already done factory reset before downloading bin, pansatt still working on the same lnb and disqe switch that 8100 should work on. why would it work on the 425 bin when changed the provider till dish went down. friggin thing is ticking me off. In bev changed one number to see if it would a/r and it did'nt. put the correct number in and it works fine on bev.

I'm going to assume that you are pointed at 119W, 110W & 82W. Suggest we step back and make sure you don't have a damaged DISEqC or LNB.
What type of LNB are you using?
Are you using 1 dish or 2?

Make sure the power switch is off on the rear of the receiver. Connect the coax from the receiver directly to one LNB only. Turn the receiver on and adjust your sat setting to match the LNB type with no DISEqC. You should see good signal and quality (quality is most important). Scan that sat for channels (if you had channels already delete them before you scan). Put it on a channel for that sat and wait for pic and sound (make sure autoroll is on). This could take up to 10 - 15 minutes, don't change channels.

Repeat for each sat (make sure power off from back when connecting/disconnecting cables) insure you are not introducing the DISEqC into the setup. Once you have all sats with good signal, quality and channels, shut down the receiver. If you get poor signal and quality on one LNB, you probably have a bad LNB (replace it).

Now intorduce the DISEqC, set 119 on port 1, 110 on port 2 & 82 on port 3. Turn your receiver back on and adjust your sat setting to reflect the DISEqC ports above. Check to make sure the signal and quality are still good for all sats. If there is a significant drop in signal or quality you will probably have to put a new DISEqC switch in...remember to always turn the power off from the back switch when working with connecting/disconnecting cables...not doing this will fry a switch, LNB or even the tuner in your receiver.

Let us know how you make out!

Cheers

Ok will try these suggestions, but I alway turn receiver off when changeing things( at the main power), I don't understand if my pansatt2500 converted is using the same switch and lnb why is it working perfect? Just not making any sense. Will probably try tommorrow now, done for the night. I am also using 3 dishes, one is for 91 and the other two are 110/119

What type of switch are you using for the three dishes? Post your sat setup from the CS8100.

i will post that info later today. At the moment i have the receiver on all, and all it says is downloading on d/n. Bev still working fine. Still don't understand why pansatt is working on same switch and dishes. If there was a problem there it would not work either as far as I know.

did as you suggested, and on 110 quality was 99% and signal was 88%. Lnb are standard, and set up without diseq switch, scanned, made sure a/r was on,set to all,put it on 110 channel and ;et roll for 30 min. Repeated with 119 but when hooked up 119 quality 0 signal 85% , but when started scanning went from 99% to 0 as it hit the different transponders. Let a/r for 30 min turned off at main power and turn back on waited 15 min and nothing. going to try the 91 without the diseq switch, but it always seems to work anyway:banghead

p.s. did 91 and rolled in 5 min diseq switch is a 4 in 1 2.0. If you loop out of the coolsat to another receiver which you should be able to do will that affect 8100? I shut the 8100 off when using the other receiver

Here is an update my receiver. was acting really screwy this morn and deleting channels on its own. So redownloaded 110 and119. rolled for an hour and no luck. So put new keys in which I have done many times in the last few days and the damn thing is working.!! Can't figure what has happened, I think there is a ghost in the machine. lol Thanks for all the suggestions and lets see how long this will work now.
