CG's Satopia ST1100-UT Review
Shipment
Would like to thank Satopia for allowing me to test this receiver out. Unit was shipped from Seoul Korea and was received at my door in 2 days I must say pretty impressive. Unit was well packaged and came with the usuals, receiver, remote, batteries, diseqc, comport cable, RCA jacks. Must say the pictures do not do justice to this receiver looks alot better in person. receiver is normal is size, with white front face plate, has a front door that holds a built in card reader and USB port below the reader.

Setup
I proceeded to download the latest file, and put it on my desktop, then unzipped the file and drag the file over to my USB stick. Then I connected the receiver to the TV and once completely installed proceeded to turn the rear of the receiver on, set my language and saved, then before loading the file I decided to navigate through the menu screen to get familar with the screen prompts, once done I loaded the USB stick and then clicked on Menu/Channel Setup/File Tools/OK/USB Explorer/OK, then press the red button to flash the unit. The bootload was quick but the flash process was a little slow for USB standards about 80 seconds. once done a message appears that the receiver will reboot. Now file was successfully installed.

Sat setup

I then proceeded to set the Sat settings up and quickly realized that there were Sats missing, so I realized it probably needed a factory default, so I did the factory default and then all Sats were there. Went to antenna settings and highlight each Sat I had and set all settings to my setup and saved. I made sure to check the signal and quality once I set the antenna settings, would be nice to have the signal and quality meters in that window without having to click on the blue button to check the meters. Once I set all 4 sats 119W 110W 91W 82W and saved, I then exited. Now I was ready to auto scan. I went to auto scan and highlighted each Sat indvidualy as I like to scan each to get an exact count of Sat and Radio channels of each Bird. scroll to 119W then changed to all and hit the OK button to scan. Let me tell you I have never seen a receiver scan this fast. I proceeded to do these steps for all 4 Birds, 119W took 24 seconds, 110W took 22 seconds, 91W took a little longer 2 minutes and 15 seconds and 82W took 40 seconds. all channels seemed to scan it properly, will test this more when I have more time to make sure.

Now I decided to set all options to my liking like time, bev renumber, etc... once done I then proceeded to set it to channel 300 HBO and let it sit to roll, Dish took about 3 minutes to roll, I then put it on Bev channel 1402 TSN and let it sit there, took about 2 minutes to roll. I then scrolled around the channels and moved back and forth between Dish and Bev and switched with no issues, checked the EPG and had already filled in with info but could be better, will test this more later on.

Rating 10 being the best

*Ease of setup <will be a little confusing for Newbs> 7.5
*Menu/OSD 8
*Scanning <Fastest I have seen to date> 9
*Picture Quality 8
*EPG <Needs a little work> 7
*Remote Don't like where the numbers are and the menu button, must be directly pointed at receiver><
*Overall to date I would rate this receiver right out of the box with a 8

Now since this receiver is not on the market yet I am sure there will be more improvements as time goes on, I will test more and I will post some pictures tomorrow when I have a little more time on my hands

OK had a little more time to play this morning, looks good, here are some screen shots in the meantime
