Satellite operator SES is set to order up to three new satellites, according to company CEO Romain Bausch.

At the Satellite 2008 Washington DC event, Romain Bausch verified that the already large satellite company was simply moments away from signing the orders for three additional satellites.

Although commercial particulars and sellers weren’t exposed he did state that Satellite 1 would be a heavyweight vessel: NSS-14 which is set to replace NSS-7. He suggested that the replacement satellite, which would be moved to an Atlantic Ocean location, would most likely be used to develop the company’s business.

The second satellite is set to be a joint-venture between SES and Echostar so long as the formal contract between the two satellite giants is signed.

The third vessel will be placed at 101 deg West, supplied by Orbital science and for SES- Americom.
