I have tried two other sites that I have been a member for quite sometime, no one has answered. I have 4 receivers hooked up 119, 110 and 91 using sw21 switches, they work great. Im in the process of moving and would like to have 5 rooms with receivers. Will the dp34 switch work? If not how would I run signals from the above sats to a 5th receiver? I have an idea, does this sound realistic Maybe on one of the switches that have both dishes to a receiver, could you run a cable from the sw21 switch to another sw21 switch and be able to run both receivers from one of the connections (by the wa;y I have dish pro quad on both dishes). If any one can help or direct me to someone that can I would appreciate it. Also I really enjoy this site getting better every day.

I know you can run 4 recievers with sw34 switch no problem. You could hook two sw34 together and do 5 no problem.

Good Answer if referring to the DP34!
I just spent 20 minutes gathering facts and figures to answer this post. I left the page for a couple of seconds and lost it all. :banghead
I didn't feel like doing it all over.

The bottom line is yes it can be done. I would recommend the a DP 44 Switch as 1 of your switches if you are using the DPP Quad. You will also need a inverter for a power source to port 1.

You may find hyour answer with the Zinwell switch. I have not had a chance to test it with the DP LNB. Below is a link to the manual.

Thanks gentlemen, when I get ready to install, I guess I will find out. If anyone thinks of something else to do let me know.

Hey guys remember that the DDP LNB has a internal switch and that switch has to be compatable with the external switches. In this case I advise using the DP switches vice the DiSEqC switch.

Between the DP34 and DP44 with power inverter he should be able to do a good job of hooking it all up together.

Thanks satbum - as stated I have 4 receivers with sw 21 switch, running two dishes. Is it possible to not use one of the sw21 switches and replace that one with the dp 34 and run cables from dish 1 and dish 2 to the switch and run two outs to two receivers? At the same time all other receivers would be using the sw 21.(Im no sure there are two outs on the dp34 switch?

DP34 switch has 3 LNB inputs and 4 outputs and that is why you will need another switch. You said earlier that you wanted to hook up 5 receivers.

I think that Satbum is pointing you in the best direction. The DP34 swtiches are more compatible with your LNB type. The Zinwell might not even be compatible with the DDP LNB. The Zinwell is actually a Dave approved switch.

Zinwells are not really compatible with DN receivers.. if you are going to be running both.. DN receivers do not like the powered 22khz on.. which a 4x4 or a 4x8 would have..
Since you have a DP 34 already.. you can add up to 2 more Dp 34's to the scheme to get lots more receivers.. added on a total of 12.. U might want to consider going with a DPP44 powered switch. you can also daisy chain them, like the DP34 switch also..
I run zinwell 4x4s on 110,119, 91,82, I have to use the non powered side of 2 zinwells for 110 and 119.. and I use the powered side for both 91 and 82.. and I run sw21 switches of each port 1 and port 1 of both switches..port 2 and port 2. etc, powering 4 receivers, one being a legal sub. Hope that helps a little bit.. good luck, txsgent

Hey satbum, txsgent will something like this work for him.

Yes but he would be giving up 1 sat with the 2 receivers on the left using that set up.
That's why I told him to use the DP34 and the DP44.
He can even add a couple more receivers and get all the sats.

I see what you are saying, I will need another switch, but Im just wondering if I can do away with one of the sw21 switches and use the dp34. Of course both of my dp quads have built in switch, so that means I can run one cable from one dish to one lnb inputs on the dp34 switch (110 and 119) and a cable from the other dish (91&82) to another lnb input and run one cable out of the (outputs) to one receiver and one out to the other receiver. With this method, I would still be using 3 sw21 switches for three receivers. With the switches that I have this would be the method I would prefer, IF it will work? Thanks, you guys have been great, and I have learned alot on what switches wil work for dn.etc
